I am Roland Rosas. I am from Alhambra California. I grew up on the Lakers and basketball. I executive produced, wrote and arranged the song, along with a team of songwriters and musicians-- "Can't Stop Loving You" in the memory of our beloved Kobe. I truly value his sacrifice, his determination and willingness to give us his heart --to LA, it's time we give something back. It's been an honor to be apart of this. 

My most influential artists are U2, Selena, Seal and anything 90's.  My first song I created when I was ten years old , our PE teachers gave us the task of creating an original song, a cheer basically, along with original dance moves. I was on cloud-9 when I was given the role as lead songwriter and took off to write “Cool Classy Cougar” in less than a day. 

For “Can’t Stop” I’ve realized the beauty in using a team to collaborate on music. I was so determined to make a song about our beloved Kobe that I went to the extreme to get every aspect of the song perfect while using our strengths. And I truly feel that the song is special. 

The path to making this song was really a path left behind by the Legend himself.  Evey step of the way, there was the path, Yes, it’s all about the journey and what a wonderful journey this has been! 

The lyrics were inspired by a vision-dream that I had of Kobe. These lyrics just spoke the truth of what I found fascinating about Kobe and what I saw in my dream. The life of Kobe “came in like a hurricane” at the age of 17, taking everyone by storm. I knew I had always written about random themes. But with this song, the theme was so powerful and close to home: the song literally wrote itself. I’d face my fears and finally open my heart: I decided to write who I was--not caring if it fits in with the mainstream and if I failed, at least I did so pursuing what I love. What I knew and felt. With Kobe’s passing, I knew I couldn’t stop feeling love and remorse. I’d tear up everyday it seemed, for almost two years. When I saw this same emotion in my sister in law, who was dying and she didn’t even watch basketball; that’s when I knew that Kobe left a very powerful and very real spiritual force. I chose to write about the ultimate dreamer--Kobe!

The song was produced by Kevin 'Kev Da Khemist' Flores, my lifelong friend and an old YMCA colleague who is also a die-hard Kobe fan. It was such a beautiful experience to create such a song with someone who cherished #24’s Legacy as much as I.
